The micro wedding Experience

Hey There!

i'm jamie! I've been a wedding photographer for 5 years.

I’ve been working with my couples since March 2020 to re-plan their weddings.

Maybe you're here because Covid-19 threw a wrench in your original plans of a traditional wedding and now you're left to plan a wedding under strict guidelines. Or maybe you just desire an intimate wedding because you value this type of experience. Whichever boat you're in, I'm here to help you make sure it's perfect!

I believe that just because you opt out for big fancy venues, 100+ guests, and thousands of dollars in florals, doesn't mean you have to opt out for beautiful portraits. I believe that no matter what type of wedding day you have, your pictures are the most important piece of your day.

Keep reading if you'd like to learn the things I've learned along the way!

TO GET THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHS:

Traditionally, it’s actually rare for my couples to actually talk to everyone that attends their wedding.

With a smaller wedding, you can now spend time with everyone you’ve invited.

Couples this year are saving so much money on weddings. Prices really have gotten out of control, and now you can spend the money you save in other places.

For the past number of years, I’ve watched wedding guest counts (and price tags!) get really out of hand when planning. In my experience, this is usually due to family pressure. At some point, a lot of my couples have started to feel like it’s not even their wedding any longer. That they’re along for the ride.

THIS YEAR IS YOUR EXCUSE TO HAVE THE WEDDING YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO.

You now have full control over the guest list. You get to invite the most important people in your life to be there, and you actually have time to be with them!

Parks, locations, and businesses are all really going out of their way to be super accommodating these days, and that makes your life a lot easier.

Budgets usually get stretched really thin because of the number of guests at the wedding. This is your excuse to involve all of the vendors you would want to have for your dream wedding.

With smaller guest counts, it’s now possible to set up a small reception wherever you’d like. Again, whatever your dream location is for this, this is probably the only year that it will be possible to do.

Schedule your ceremony when it’s good for photos.

2 hours before sunset will give us the best light for photos.

Hire a photographer (me!) for 2-3 hours. That will cover a little of the getting ready, the ceremony, family photos and photos of the two of you. (There are also collections if you’d like me to come to the reception)

My photography is primarily candid, so it’ll be a more relaxing experience than you might think right now.

Safety in this time is a priority for me. I will respect all current local rules.

This is one of the most exciting things with micro weddings - you can get married anywhere.

You no longer have to look for hall to accommodate a certain guest count, while also meeting the budget.

Now you get to be creative. Some of my couples are getting married in forests, in front of waterfalls, and at restaurants that would not have been possible with a larger guest count.

As a wedding photographer, this is the most exciting part of micro weddings for me.

Weddings have become much simpler overall. Which means, less stress for you on the day. No problems to troubleshoot, you just get to enjoy the day.

This lack of stress on the wedding day, really comes through in the photos.

We have all the time we need for photos, and we’re in control of the time of day we take them. At a traditional wedding, the photo session just kind of fits wherever it fits - which means non-ideal lighting conditions where you might not look your best.

Micro weddings, we can schedule at the best time of day for photos.

To add to that, you can now use the budget you saved to spend a little more on the details you’d really like to have.

FROM PAST WEDDING CLIENTS

To start, Jamie is the sweetest photographer you could book. She is so kind and easy to work with. Her pictures look so beautiful, and it was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day and engagement photos.

She is easy to get a hold of, whether it’s over Instagram, text, or on the phone. On the day of the wedding she is 100% your helper and on top of taking beautiful photos you’ll always see her scurrying around the venue helping out the bride however she can!

The quality of work for the price is definitely a steal. I would 100% recommend anyone and everyone hire Jamie for all your photography needs!

Jamie is beyond what my husband Rafael and I could have asked for. She made everyone comfortable, and made sure everyone was laughing the entire time. Her attention to detail and the moments she captured of our wedding are timeless. Pictures I will cherish forever. Jamie is now our family photographer. I have and always will refer people to her, she is one of a kind and a rare talent these days. Jamie. We love you! thank you!

Jamie Brown is an amazing photographer. The day before the wedding, our photographer canceled on us. Literally last minute, Jamie came through and was the answer to our prayers. Her photos were stunning, and she is not only professional but also kind and thoughtful.

The Intimate wedding Experience

After 7 years in the industry, I take pride in achieving a bright, vibrant and joyful in almost ANY location or situation. Rest assured, your portraits will be just as beautiful as you've imagined!

Once you've reserved your wedding date with me, I will set up a phone/facetime chat where we can dig in to the vision you have for your day. I will provide timing recommendations, as well as answer any questions you may have! I also include a timeline with every package. This helps out a lot since intimate weddings usually do not have a coordinator!

A huge benefit to intimate weddings are the intimate portrait time we get to have together. This leaves the door wide open to explore certain locations you may want, or explore with new elegant poses that you may not typically have time for on a traditional wedding day.

I absolutely love taking pictures but I also feel that you deserve to enjoy your day and not smile in a front of a camera all day! I focus on photographing three key elements of your wedding day. Your getting ready time, ceremony and one hour after the ceremony for family shots and of course, bride and groom shots!

After your wedding is over, you can look forward to seeing a sneak peak of about 10-15 images the very next day! These will be posted on our social media channels and will be available for you to share with your friends and family.

You can expect your entire beautifully retouched gallery delivered to your email inbox within 4 weeks of your special day. You will be able to print,  share and download an unlimited number of times! I can't wait for you to be the next JBP couple!

Due to the nature of intimate weddings, all of our collections are easily customized to your needs.
